Plastic Waste Management

Plastic is hailed as a scientific marvel since it is versatile, resilient, non-degradable, and inexpensive to create. Over 400 million tonnes of plastic is produced every year. More than half of all plastic generated every year is single-use, and less than one-fifth of all plastic generated gets recycled. India, being one of the world’s largest economies and users of plastic, has around 20,000 plastic factories operating at any given moment. More than 8.3 billion tonnes of plastic have been created in the previous 70 years. Approximately more than 80% of this is dumped as waste. As a result, establishing an efficient plastic waste management system is a must.

Wastech gathers various forms of dry waste, including plastic items from a variety of client sites. This waste is transported to an on-site facility where it gets segregated. The segregated waste is then sent to a Materials Recovery Facility, where it is further classified into waste types like PET, MLP, HDPE, LDPE, and so on.

After categorizing the plastic waste, it is formed into bales and is ready for delivery to authorized destinations. These destinations can be recycling units or cement companies that use low-grade plastic waste as fuel.
